The 2008-2009 Fantasy Cup Hockey Challenge registration begins: Newspaper Host Contest Changes in 2008-2009: 1. Goals will be worth 2 Points each 2. All entries have access to trades. Free entries start off with 3, and Slap Shot packages start with 20. 3. There will be 50 Additonal Trades available for purchase. Free and Slap Shot package holders can purchase these trades. 4. Player trades will be Held for FOUR (4) days without a ptrade being perfored in that group again. 5. There is only One (1) Service package option....Slap Shot at a cost of $12.95. If you select and have not paid for your slap shot package by Wednesday October 22, 2008, the price of the package will increase to $34.95. 6. To upgrade your Free entry to a Slap Shot package after October 21, 2008, the cost of the package wil be $34.95. What is this contest all about? It's a FUN and EASY Contest to Play during the NHL regular season....This is a Hockey Draft where you gain points by goals and assists your players register throughout the season. You sign up by using the newspaper entry form and mailing it to the address on that form, or register here ONLINE. Only 2 entries per person will be accepted per contest. Entry into this contest is FREE and you pick One (1) player from each of the 16 groups to make up your roster. These picks become your team for the season, unless you choose to make some trades with the trades that have been allocated to your entry (extra trades available for a fee). Paid Slap Shot Package Holders have the availability of their individual rank daily online, as well as access to injury reports, and individual player statictics as necessary. Non service package holders will have limited online access to view statistics, Top 1000 listings, and your current held played roster.
How do I gain points?
You gain points for each goal and assist your player gets during the season. You only gain points for a player that you hold in your roster at the time they get that point. Points are awarded as follows:
Each goal = 2 Points Each Assists = 1 Point +/- Rating = No Points, it is used to help determine tie break situations Player trading begins Friday November 7th at 12 noon PST, so you have to hold your orginal roster selections from October 10, 2008 to November 7, 2008, regardless that you have trading pivledges. Every contestant can make changes to their roster until the registration deadline of 24:00:00 hrs PST October 10, 2008.......as long as you have signed up online or have recovered your mailed in entry from our system (Recovering entries requires that the newspaper has sent those entries onto us to be recovered and the data entry process has been completed on that entry, and entered into the online database.) How do I know if I won any Prizes?
Make sure to follow each week in the newspaper. There may be weekly prizes from most, if not all newspaper contests, as well as Grand Prizes. Each newspaper will have their own variety of prizes and categories, and they will list these prizes in the ads they run, as well as at the offices of each newspaper. Each week the newspapers have selected a day in which they run an update ad to display rankings and weekly prize winners... Go through the newspaper to find this ad (Starting in Early November), and they will list all the weekly prize winners, top rankings, player stats, and the information to claim your prize.
Now, buy that newspaper to get the entry form, or go to the current contest section and enter yourself in the contest(s). You can enter more than one contest, but be sure to check the eligibility requirements for each contest to see if you qualify to be a prize winner (certain living area restrictions apply).
