Stock Market Investment Challenge



 

  1. Stock Market Investment Challenge is free to enter and open to any resident of Canada except employees of The Winnipeg Free Press, their affiliated sponsors, Cornerstone International, CI Fantasy Sports, their assignees, and licensees, and members of their immediate families living in the same household.

 

  1. All entries must be postmarked and sent to The Winnipeg Free Press or CI Fantasy Sports, no later than February 25th, 2011. Mail entries to Stock Market Investment Challenge  PO Box 70005, 1-1660 Kenaston Blvd, Winnipeg, Manitoba, r3P 0X6. No responsibility will be taken if entries or contest related correspondence are lost, damaged, or misdirected in the mail during processing. Mailed entries with insufficient postage are void. Mailed entries with the postmark date of Feb 25th, 2011, must be received at The Winnipeg Free Press or CI Fantasy Sports No later than March 3rd, 2011. If they are received later than March 3rd, 2011, they are subject to disqualification regardless of the post mark date on the entry envelope.

 

  1. Only TWO (2) entries per person. Multiple entries beyond two from the same person will be disqualified. However, students may enter both the school contest and the regular contest (1 entry in the school and 2 entries in the regular). A unique email address/username must be used by each person who has an entry(s) in the contest. Please see website for further profile, and contest entry requirements. Go to www.cifantasysports.com for further information. The 2 entry qualification will be determined by CI Fantasy Sports at their sole discretion and authorization.

 

  1. No purchase necessary to enter. Only official entry forms printed by the Winnipeg Free Press will be accepted or reasonably drawn facsimiles will be considered. CI Fantasy Sports reserves the right to disqualify any entry that has been incorrectly completed or illegible to transcribe. All entries received become the property of CI Fantasy Sports, The Winnipeg Free Press and their associated sponsors. The participant mailing list mayl be made available to our contest partner(s), who may contact you with information on products or services that may be of interest to you.

 

  1. All stock closing prices will be taken from the last trade of the day as confirmed by our reporting organization. This value will be adjusted at the discretion of CI Fantasy Sports, based on the data received and verified by ourselves or our reporting organization.

 

  1. In the event of a tie for one of the grand prizes, the prize will be awarded to the contestant who comes closest to predicting the final price of Gold in New York (in US Dollars) on June 3rd, 2011.

 

  1. A contestant may only win once in any given weekly prize category. In the event of a repeat winner, the prize will be awarded to the next best ranking contestant in that prize category. If a tie exists for the weekly portfolio gain prize, the prize will be awarded to the contestant with the best overall rank in the contest. If still tied, a random computer assisted draw will determine the winner. Weekly prizes will be awarded starting the week that the first contestant update is published in the newspaper (approx March 15th,2011).

 

  1. All prizes must be accepted as awarded, no substitutes. By entering this contest you agree to the use of your name, address, photograph, and contest selections for publicity without compensation. Chances of winning are dependent upon skill used in picking your portfolio and the total number of entries received. Contest organizers are not responsible for any injury incurred by a contestant as a result of winning or participating in the contest(s). For the purpose of awarding prizes, it is the sole responsibility of the contestant to inform the contest administrator via The Winnipeg Free Press by April 8th, 2011, of any discrepancy with his/her contest portfolio. Any inquires beyond this date for any reason of error, omission, online website access denied, error in online entry recovery or misdirected or undelivered mail, will not result in any changes or refunds for service fee’s paid prior to this date.

 

  1. In order to receive the extra services, including the mailed out update, trading, you must include the appropriate administration fee payable to “Cornerstone”, indicate Broker Service Package by checking the appropriate box on the entry form and legibly complete the address section of the entry form including postal code. If you choose to receive the mailed out statement, your statement will confirm your portfolio selections, a list of how many full shares of each stock you purchased, and instructions on how to access the online services offered. If you choose to not receive your mailed out statement, it is the sole responsibility of the contestant to recover their login information online from the www.cifantasysports.com website. You will be required to provide the last name, postal code and the 4 digit or letter password you submitted on the entry form to recover your entry(s) (this recovery process only applies to those contestants who mailed in their entries and who have not played a CI Fantasy Sports Contest in the past 9 months). Please notify CI Fantasy Sports in writing of any changes in address as soon as possible (send to: Stock Market Investment Challenge Re: Winnipeg Free Press, P.O. Box 70005, 1-1660 Kenaston Blvd, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, R3P 0X6. Contestants who properly request the extra services but have not received their first report by March 30th, 2011, must inform CI Fantasy Sports by April 8th, 2011, if a replacement copy needs to be mailed. If any entrant properly requests and pays for the extra services and is disqualified for any reason, they will receive a full refund of their extra services fee by the method upon which they submitted their payment (paypal or cheque). Entries that have payments come back NSF will be immediately removed from the contest and remain dormant. NSF payments will be charged a $10.00 processing fee on top of their original registration fee, to re-instate them in the contest. No refunds will be issued for any reason beyond disqualification past the date of April 8th, 2011. No exceptions.

 

  1. The extra services are optional and are not a requirement of entry. A Mac (System 8 or higher) or Windows (XP operation system or higher) based computer with internet access is required to use the Stock Market Investment Challenge online system. The internet browsers we support are Firefox (preferred), Internet Explorer (Version 7 and higher), and Chrome. The online service centre will grant access to all paid service package holders, and all holders will have access to purchase additional Internet trades (30 additional trades per contestant entry form) as the contest progresses. Only individual rankings for service package holders will be updated daily. The top 200, top 1000, and top all listings (school contest), will only be updated as the weekly updates are viewed in the newspaper (Top listings represent the weekly change from Monday to Friday of the past week, and are only updated once a week)

 

  1. The decisions of the contest organizers will be final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment. CI Fantasy Sports reserves the right to change or modify the rules and regulations or any other procedure or application during the course of the contest. All facets of rankings, statistics, trades and listings online are displayed under the terms of this section and can and will be modified as the contest progresses, and CI Fantasy Sports may do so without the notification of the contestant or the contest host.

 

  1. All support services will be conducted via the CI Fantasy Sports, websites. The support services via the website will accommodate almost all inquires. If there is an answer that can not be addressed via the websites, then please contact our support centre at support@cifantasysports.com. Please state your name, address, phone number, email address you used in the contest, the particular contest you are playing. Our online support centre will make every effort to contact you within 24 to 48 hours with a reply or request for further information (in some circumstances it may take longer than 48 hours.). There is no telephone support via our office at CI Fantasy Sports. The CI Fantasy Sports phone number is a corporate number for the assistance of the sales process to newspapers themselves, and they have no access to the day to day management of the contest itself. Inquires to the CI Fantasy Sports office line may go unanswered, or will be directed to the online support section at support@cifantasysports.com. All support issues will be dealt with in a timely and courteous manner and we ask your patience in receiving your replies.

 

  1. Trading Rules – A trade can be made during the trading period (March 30 to June 3, 2011). A trade is a transaction between two stocks in the same group. A trade requires the current selection in One of the Eight (8) groups listed in the contest, being selected to be traded away. The stock will then be sold at the closing price of the day that the trade is initiated. The stock that will be selected to replace the stock traded away will also follow the same rules, and the closing price and date from the date of transaction will be used to determine the number of new shares of held. All trades performed from 00:00:01 hrs to 23:59:59 hrs Pacific Time ( 02:00:01 to 01:59:59 Central Standard Time) will be considered trades done and completed on that day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). If a trade is done from 00:00:01 hrs Saturday to 23:59:59 hrs Sunday that trade will be acted upon as if it was traded on Friday and will follow the previous rules. You may choose to make a trade in any group up to 1 time per 24 hour period.
