How to Play Fantasy Cup Hockey Challenge "Newspaper Edition"

NHL Season Has been extended till Sunday May 16, 2021. All stats from Sunday May 9th, to Sunday May 16th, will be finalized on Tuesday May 18th, 2021. The simultaneous running of Regular and Playoff season, has generated manual adjustments, so please be patient till May 18th, 2021 in the final week of the contest.

The Thunder Bay Chronicle Journal will be active January 8th, 2021.

It's a FUN and EASY to Play. It's still the regular Box Selection Hockey Draft Contest, where you pick One (1) Player from each of the 16 groups on the entry form. You can register here online or you can purchase a newspaper and clip the registration form, fill it in and send it in for registration. You gain points for each goal (Shoot out Goals not included) and assist your roster of 16 players gains throughout the NHL Regular Season.......but you only get their points if they are in your roster at the time they gain the point. The contest is FREE to enter but you can upgrade to the Slap Shot Service Package to get FULL online access to your entry.

Free Entries- You will have access to Five (5) online trades to be used throughout the year. You will also have access to purchase up to an additional 80 trades (for a fee), through the Website. These trades can be used at your discretion. You will have limited access to view Player Stats, the Top 1000 weekly rankings. You can also choose to upgrade your entry at anytime (for a fee) to get the extra online resources.

Slap Shot Service Package is $12.95: - Full payment of $12.95 for each entry you request to be upgraded to the FULL Services of the Website. After payment, you will be granted full access to all the services on the website, which will give you access to detailed statistics, injury status, your daily rankings, as well as 25 initial trades and access to extra trades for a fee. This package gives you the greatest ability to stay connected with your entry, and have the best enhanced experience on our site.

Key Information for this CONTEST:

• Goals = 1 points
• Assists = 1 point
• Plus/Minus rating has no point allocation, and is used solely in determining tie break situations for prizing.
• All Entries will have access to trades.
• Increased access to extra trades for all contestants (80 additional trades available for a fee to all contestants).
• Player trading will have a hold period of Five (5) day. You can ONLY trade within the same group and when you make a trade you have to hold that player for 5 days till trading in that group is available again.
• Payments for Slap shot entries must be made by November 6th, 2018, or the price of their package increases to $25.95 (up from the regular $12.95).
• Subscribing to the Slap Shot Service package is $12.95, and this will be the only package available. If you choose to select and pay for this package after Feb 5th, 2021 the fee will be $19.95 each.

Some of the Key Dates you need to be aware of are as follows:

• Registration Deadline is Friday January 22nd, 2021 at Midnight Pacific Time (PT).
• Slap Shot Package payment deadline before price INCREASE is February 5th, 2021. ($12.95 to $19.95 each).
• The First week of published results in the newspaper and the first date Online Rankings will be the week of February 8th, 2021.
• The Online Entry recovery process will be active starting MONDAY February 8th, 2021. This is the date all the mailed in entries get merged into the online database.
• Player Trading will begin FRIDAY February 19th, 2020 at 00:01 hrs Pacific Time (Your roster of 16 players will be frozen from Jan 22 till Feb 19, 2020 regardless if you are a free entry or a Slap Shot Service package entry.
• NHL Regular Season Starts WEDNESDAY January 13th, 2021.
• Last Day of the contest will be the last day of the NHL Regular Season. That day is Saturday May 8th, 2021.
• Weekly Top 1000 rankings and Total Player stats will be available online each Tuesday after 12 noon Pacific time, starting after Monday February 8th, 2021. This will continue till the end of the contest at the discretion of the newspapers and CI Fantasy Sports. The Online rankings will be Hidden the last 2 weeks of the contest, so that all results will be published in newspaper for review.
• Extra Trade purchases will be made available to all contestants on FRIDAY February 19 2021. There are 80 extra trades available for purchase for a fee. 107 trades available to be used in the contest if all options for trades is used.
